Player Feedback
For this devlog player feedback has been taken and partially incorporated into the game.
During testing, the main feedback received was:
- Add BGM
- Add sound effects for when troops attack and are spawned
- For the time between spawns to be shorter
- Add shadows to troops
- To be able to access instructions midgame
- To be able to move the camera by clicking on the mini map
- Have an icon to indicate which troop type is selected
- Add different difficulty settings for one-player mode
- Make the background more zoomed in and varied (more than just grass)
So far, only items 1-4 have been implemented, with the rest to be done later. For BGM, two different tracks have been used. The first has been used in the menu screen and during actual game play and can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXV5MfePBRs. The second has been used in the end screen for when the player has won the game. It can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgtRqwfJGbI. For sound effects, a “shing”, “chink”, “zshoop”, and “ahhhh!” have been used for the attacking and spawning sound effects and can be found at:

Items 5-9 are intended for the final version of the game, but at this stage are yet to be implemented.
In this version the UI has also been improved by changing the colour of buttons, adding extra sprites, changing fonts, and fixing issues that occurred when resizing the screen.
